Peanuts
Velora Impex supplies premium-quality Indian peanuts sourced from trusted farmers and processing units across India’s leading peanut-producing regions. Indian peanuts, also known as groundnuts, are one of the country’s most important oilseed crops. They are widely cultivated and valued for their high oil content, nutritional benefits, and versatile applications in the food industry. Groundnuts (peanuts) are highly nutrient-dense, typically containing 22% to 36% protein and 44% to 56% oil.
The peanut growing cycle takes approximately 4 to 5 months from planting to harvesting. India follows a two-crop production cycle:
- Kharif Crop: Sown during the monsoon season and harvested around October–November.
- Rabi Crop: Sown during the winter season and harvested around March–April.
This dual harvesting cycle enables a continuous supply of fresh peanuts throughout the year, allowing exporters to meet international demand even when many other producing countries face seasonal shortages.
Peanuts are primarily cultivated for oil extraction, with the edible oil widely used in cooking. They are also consumed as whole nuts, roasted, blanched, and processed into peanut butter, confectionery products, snacks, and animal feed.
The major peanut-producing states in India include Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Maharashtra, ensuring consistent production, quality, and reliable export availability.
